Control website and e-mail notifications for friend requests, invites, API access, and followed channels.

Website Notifications

The notification badge in the navigation highlights unread items and links to the notification center.

  • Use the dropdown preview for recent notifications.
  • Use the notifications page for pagination and actions.
  • Clear notifications when you no longer need them.

E-mail Notifications

E-mail notifications are opt-in and only send when there is relevant notification activity.

  • Friend request and event invite preferences live in account settings.
  • Channel e-mail preferences live on each followed channel.
  • No e-mail is sent when there is nothing to summarize.

Friend And Event Activity

Friend requests, event invites, and account-related updates can appear as website notifications.

  • Use the notification page when the dropdown preview is not enough.
  • Unread counts are shown in the navigation for signed-in users.
  • Dismiss old notifications to keep the list focused.

API And Admin Notifications

Some notifications are tied to account capabilities rather than social activity.

  • API access approval or removal can notify the requesting user.
  • Admins may see pending counts for reports or access requests in backend surfaces.
  • Notification behavior should remain conservative and avoid unnecessary e-mail volume.
